Michoacán.- The authorities revealed that the massacre in San José de Gracia, Michoacánit happened for a possible revenge between two members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), Alejandro aka “Bald“, who was killed on the spot, and Abel “The bull”who would have broken into the wake with his gunmen.
During AMLO’s La Mañanera on March 1, 2022, the Undersecretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Ricardo Mejia, revealed that “El Pelón” was the alleged target of “El Toro” or “El Viejón” during the massacre in Michoacán.
“A difference where there is interests also of a personal and family nature between the head of two cellsone that we can locate as Alejandro alias “El Pelón”, and the other located as Abel alias “El Toro” or “El Viejón”, both from San José de Gracia, with families rooted in that demarcation,” explained Mejía.
This is what the authorities know so far about “El Pelón”, who was allegedly murdered along with his hit men during his mother’s wake in San José de Gracia, Michoacán, the alleged execution of which videos were broadcast on social networks
Who is “El Pelon”?
Alejandro “N” begins his criminal career in 1997 at the age of 18. Between that year and 2009 he became a hitman for The Zetasafter The Michoacan Family and later from The Knights Templar.
Between 2010 and 2011, “El Pelón” changed to CJNG as head of plaza from Tizapán el Alto to Mazamitla, Jalisco. In 2010, he meets Abel, “El Toro”, who was 18 years old at the time and was a hitman for the Templars.
On July 17, 2014, “El Pelón” is arrested in Mazamitla by municipal police officers and is being held in a Jalisco prison for crimes against health related to drugs and psychotropic drugs, as well as violation of the law on firearms and explosives.
For various betrayals and the Rise of “El Toro” as the new plaza boss, “El Pelón” is threatened with death if it stops again in San José de Gracia.

Consequently, “El Pelón” breaks with his former CJNG cell and moves to Colima or Zapopan, where he works with another CJNG criminal leader.
In December 2021, already as the new head of another CJNG plaza, Alejandro takes revenge on “El Toro” by ordering the murder of his younger brotherJosé “El Chepe”, who was a criminal leader in Tizapán.
On February 26, 2022, The mother of “El Pelón” dies at the age of 79 in a hospital in Sahuayo due to cirrhosis, after which his body is transferred to San José de Gracia for his wake and burial.
On February 27, the day of the massacre in Michoacán, “El Pelón” arrives at his mother’s funeral with around 15 assassins in 3 white vans, with small arms and tactical equipment, and accompanied by a group of Mariachis.
When questioned by his 52-year-old brother Jesús for his presence there, Alejandro replies that he has permission from the CJNG commanders to watch over his mother.
However, after just 5 minutes, they arrive 15 vans with at least 40 assassins with long weapons, surrounding the people who were at the funeral. It was about “El Viejón” and his gunmen.“El Pelón” was apparently talking on the phone when he was shot to death by “El Viejón.” Images: SSPC
The gunmen of “El Pelón” are disarmed, subdued and placed with their hands raised in front of the gate of a house, as can be seen in one of the videos broadcast on social networks.
In another part of the video, it is allegedly seen “El Pelón” talking on the phone, until “El Toro” shoots him in the head and even his cell phone goes flying. Then the shootout breaks out between the assassins, so it is believed that it was not an execution, but a confrontation between the assassins of “El Viejón” and “E Pelón”the latter at a disadvantage.
The rest of what happened is not entirely clear to the authorities, since the bodies were removed from the scene, and even those responsible brought special equipment to inject water and clean the scene. However, the experts from the Michoacán Prosecutor’s Office collected various evidence, such as shell casings and bullet wounds, which are part of the investigations.
