BBC Breakfast’s Carol Kirkwood pulled to floor by guide dog during live weather report

Carol Kirkwood has had quite the morning on BBC Breakfast after getting taken out by a guide dog. The weather presenter was in Chelsea to deliver Monday’s forecast to viewers.

But Carol, 59, was also talking to the news programme’s hosts Dan Walker and Sally Nugent about guide dogs.

As the camera panned back to the studio, however, the huge screen next to the presenters showed Carol being pulled over by one of the dogs – with only her feet in shot.

“We’ve got a Kirkwood down,” Dan called out from the comfort of the stupid. “‘We’ve got a Kirkwood down.

“Someone save Carol!”

Dan and Sally couldn’t stop laughing as Carol attempted to get back to her feet with a smile

Kneeling on the floor, Dan did express concern amongst the laughter, asking: “We are just checking if you’re ok… Are you ok?”

“Yes,” Carol laughed. “She’s a very strong girl, Flash.

“She’s run back to her trainer, Mel, who is on the other side of the camera.”

They then left Carol to collect herself with Sally quipping: “Don’t you love live television?”

Dan commented: “You can just see Carol’s pumps on the floor.

“She’s laughing her head off I think she may have lost a shoe.”

And viewers couldn’t help but have a giggle.

“That was wonderful (sorry Carol). Really cheered us up on a Monday morning,” tweeted one.

Another said: “Never work with children or animals. Nice one Carol and made me chuckle on a Monday morning.”

“And just like that, @carolkirkwood was gone in a flash,” a third joked.

A fourth tweeted: “This is giving me strong “Bridget Jones” reporting scene vibes this morning. #bbcbreakfast.”
