Minister for Higher Education Simon Harris and his wife Caoimhe Wade have welcomed their new baby boy on Wednesday.
Many rushed to congratulate the Fine Gael politician on his second child, including Yvonne Connolly and Dr Ciara Kelly.
Minister Harris shared a photo of him cuddling his newborn on his Instagram along with a few words.
Today we welcomed Baby Cillian into the world. Caoimhe and baby doing great and Saoirse delighted to be a big sister and looking forward to meeting him soon,’ he wrote.
‘Thanks so much to all staff in Holles Street. I will now take paternity leave for a few weeks to get to know this new little man.’
Congratulations Simon that’s wonderful news,’ said Dr Ciara Kelly.
Yvonne commented a simple, ‘Congratulations’ while Ailbhe Garrihy gushed: ‘Congrats Simon! Welcome baby Cillian.’
In early August, Minister Harris shared the news that he and Caoimhe were having another child.
The couple are parents to daughter Saoirse, who they welcomed in 2019.
At the time, the politician took to Instagram to share a photo of a fluffy bunny teddy bear sitting atop a brand new baby blanket.
In the West on a short break and the last before Saoirse becomes a big sister!’ he wrote, adding their ‘new arrival is due soon’.
‘Caoimhe and I are excited and looking forward to Saoirse having a little brother or sister.’
