McDonald’s menu shake-up leaves fast-food fans furious over new items

Date:

Nacho Cheese Wedges and a Spicy Quarter Pounder are among the new food items available at McDonald’s but not everyone is happy

WHY YOU SHOULD NEVER THROW AWAY YOUR MCDONALD’S RECEIPT

McDonald’s has introduced a load of new food items to its menu.

From next week, McDonald’s customers will be able to get their hands on the popular Nacho Cheese Wedges again as well as a brand new burger, the Spicy Quarter Pounder.

Other brand new additions include the Quarter Pounder Deluxe and the McChicken BLT. You can find the full list here.

The new McDonald’s items, however, haven’t gone down well with everyone.

Many fast-food fans have been left frustrated that the restaurant is introducing new items before bringing back some much-missed classics.

McDonald’s has been running on a reduced menu since re-opening branches after the nationwide coronavirus lockdown back in March.

As such, popular breakfast items like the Breakfast Wrap and bagel options are not currently available, and fans are really missing them.

Commenting about the new menu additions, one social media user wrote: “We still don’t care, give us the breakfast wraps back.”

Another added: “I would rather they bring back the sausage and egg bagel than bring in new stuff people haven’t asked for.”

Previously explaining the reduced menu, McDonald’s said: “In order to allow for social distancing, we will have fewer employees in our kitchens and service areas and to help our smaller teams, we are offering a limited menu.”

However, McDonald’s was also recently forced to remove their vegetarian options too, which has only added to customers’ fury.

The Veggie Dippers and the Vegetable Deluxe burger, which is made from the dippers, are currently unavailable after temporarily being taken off the menu.

A spokesperson told Wales Online: “Due to an issue resulting in some of our Veggie Dippers having not met the high standards that we expect from our products, we have temporarily removed them from our menu.

“We are working hard to return our Dippers to the menu as quickly as possible, and apologise to our customers for any disappointment caused.”

Despite fans feeling nostalgic about the old menu, many people are extremely excited about the return of the Nacho Cheese Wedges and the autumnal Salted Caramel Latte.

All the new additions land on October 7, 2020, so you don’t have long to wait.
