Teen arrested after Peckham boy stabbed to death outside Clapham South tube station

Date:

A seventeen-year-old was arrested today by police investigating the murder of a boy from Peckham.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is currently in custody at a south London police station.

Police say that although the investigation ‘continues to move at a pace’, they have renewed an appeal for information.

Officers were called at 4.35pm on Friday, November 2, to reports of a stabbing on Balham Hill, outside Clapham South station.

The victim, Malcolm Mide-Madariola, tragically died shortly after being rushed to hospital.  The 17-year-old Clapham student was from Peckham.

DCI Massey, who is leading the investigation, said: “While we have made an arrest and this investigation continues to move at a pace I would reiterate my appeal for information.

“The stabbing in Balham Hill followed an altercation a few minutes earlier involving two small groups of young males near to Clapham South underground station.

“However I don’t believe anyone involved had travelled on the tube.

“There were a large number of people present when emergency services arrived at the scene, and although many have come forward, I want to ensure that we have spoken to all potential witnesses.

“If you were in the area and saw anything
