The iconic St Anne’s Square in Belfast is to reach full capacity as a new restaurant looks set to open at the end of September, nabbing the final unit in the development. Top Blade Steakhouse will be housed in the unit formerly occupied by Chopin and represents an investment of £100,000, creating 20 jobs in the process.
Identifying a gap in the Northern Ireland food scene for a venue to specialise in flat iron steak, Top Blade is the brainchild of 22-year-old entrepreneur Zara Peden. The new 1,400 sq. ft restaurant will specialise in flat iron steak and a much more affordable and accessible steak eatery. Top Blade’s menu will provide a concise selection, championing great steak for everyone coupled with unrivalled taste.
Speaking on her new venture, Managing Director, Zara Peden said, “Having visited flat iron steak restaurants in Soho, I knew I wanted to bring this concept to Belfast. Northern Ireland has a longstanding love for steak however from my research, the price point can often act as a barrier. People today desire quality, tasty food, that is great value for money and that is exactly what we offer. I don’t believe people should pay extra to satisfy their steak craving. We have teamed up with Carnbrooke Meats in Dromora to ensure our guests have the best steak possible without paying a premium. I am confident the people of Northern Ireland and beyond will love what we have to offer.”
Zara added, “Belfast has experienced a renaissance of its food scene recently and I knew I wanted Top Blade to join the bustling hospitality sector in the city. St Anne’s Square presented the perfect location for my new restaurant. I am excited to join the impressive roster of eateries in this wonderful development. I believe that each restaurant in the square has something unique to offer and it is vital to give consumers a plethora of options.”
As well as the mouth-watering steak, Top Blade will offer a delicious selection of sides, representing some of Northern Ireland’s favourites, including buttery champ, sweet potato fries, market greens and a range of sauces to serve with the steak. Vegan customers can avail of the speciality seitan steak as well as vegan friendly side options. The 46-seater restaurant will be open Monday – Thursday from 4pm -11pm and Friday-Sunday from 12pm until 11pm. Top Blade will also offer a bespoke cocktail and wine menu as well as a tailored selection of beers and spirits.
