STOCKTON’S Riverside will play host to a visual and musical spectacular when the annual fireworks display
Alongside the fantastic fireworks, there’ll be a roadshow full of entertainment hosted by BBC Tees presenters Gary Philipson and Amy Oakden – including a live performance from Britain’s Got Talent stars The Mimic Men who will dazzle the crowd with a hilarious set of impressions.
Joining the bill is local musician Samantha Durnan and her live band as well as a special performance from the Mill Lane Primary School choir.
The theme of the display is ‘Lost Legends’, which will see a celebration of the works of the iconic music and film artists who have passed away in the last 12 months.
The BBC Tees roadshow gets under way at 6pm, with the main fireworks spectacular starting at 7.30pm.
Councillor Norma Wilburn, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: “Every year there are thousands upon thousands of residents and visitors that descend on Stockton to be wowed by the brilliant fireworks spectacular.
“Attending an organised event is a much safer option than hosting your own fireworks display and we’re delighted to be able to welcome in excess of 25,000 people to one of the biggest and best free displays in the country.
“This year is set to be as popular as ever and I’m sure everyone is looking forward to the entertainment roadshow, hosted by BBC Tees, which looks to be great fun and have something for everyone.”
