Tower Bridge shut down by Extinction Rebellion protesters

Extinction Rebellion caused mayhem today by shutting down  Tower Bridge for four hours.

The environmental protesters unfurled a banner calling on the government to ‘end fossil fuels now’

The bridge was closed off from about 7.30 this morning (Friday, April 8) ahead a  week of protests planned by the group.

Police closed off local roads, causing tailbacks, before eventually removing the protesters.
