Amy Huberman makes follower’s day with Garth Brooks gestrure

Date:

Amy Huberman has made a follower’s day by setting them up with Garth Brooks tickets after an appeal put out on social media.

The actress and writer took to her Instagram stories on Sunday appealing to her followers to give her a ‘holler’ if anyone was selling two tickets to the country singer’s upcoming shows at the weekend.

Amy wrote: ‘Okay I know Garth tickets are like hen’s teeth but if anyone is selling two give me a holler.

Not for me… a nurse I know who is trying to cheer up two nurse colleagues who have had a particularly difficult week this week xxx.’

Two hours later the actress shared that she got the tickets she was appealing for.

Amy went on to explain that many people messaged her saying they would give their Garth Brooks tickets away for next weekend.

‘So bloody kind,’ Amy stated.

The 43-year-old went on to advise anyone still wanting to give their tickets up to post them to Crumlin Children’s hospital.

She said: ‘How about if you have spares if you post them into Crumlin Children’s hospital so any more nurses there can use them. It has been the hardest of weeks and they are incredible.

‘We are sorted for this evening and thank you.’

The Finding Joy star updated her followers to share that she had set up an email for anyone else with spare tickets.

She explained that all the tickets will go ‘straight to the nurse team at Crumlin Children’s hospital who have had the most challenging of weeks.’

Amy said: ‘We have an email up and running. If you have tickets you don’t need or want and are happy to donate please send to nursestoseegarth@outlook.ie.’

Sharing the news on her main feed, the actress was inundated with praise in the comments section of the post, with followers even sharing that they have concert tickets for other gigs such as Sigrid in November.

One commented: ‘Great idea – as a student nurse waaaaay back in the day I got free tickets to concerts & gigs. So gratefully appreciated always.’

Another noted: ‘This is an amazing idea well done Amy.’

A third said: ‘What a brilliant initiative.’

Amy was a guest on Friday’s Late Late Show, and chatted all about her new book The Day I Got Trapped in My Brain, as well as dealing with grief after losing her father in May.

Speaking about her new book, The Day I Got Stuck in My Brain — a children’s novel that deals with grief — Amy admitted that she ‘never set out to write on such a big topic.’

She said: ‘Maybe it was some pressing thing, that I knew because I was kind of going through a journey with my own Dad, and these two things were running concurrently in my life and I didn’t realize they would fork when they did.’

She said: ‘The protagonist in the book, she gets her story. I think, [with] my relationship with my dad, you kind of regress into that, where you’re the kid again, and you’re losing your anchor.’

Speaking about Harold, Amy said: ‘He was so fun. The grief is overwhelming, and it ambushes you at times.

The actress revealed to host Ryan Tubridy that she feels closest to her late father when she is laughing at something ‘because I can hear him laughing.’

Amy’s father, Harold Huberman passed away in May following a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was 84 years old.

Speaking following her father’s death, Amy said she would never be ready to say goodbye, but remarked how grateful she was that ‘we were yours, and that you were ours.’
