The first phase of the new development will finally open to shoppers on Thursday after years of construction.
After a very long wait, shoppers across Edinburgh will finally be able to cross the hallowed doors into the new St James Quarter next week.
With construction on the huge project taking years to complete, and being delayed by the pandemic, the site will be opening a selection of retailers and eateries on Thursday (June 24).
The quarter is to be made up of shops, restaurants, cafes, a cinema and even the iconic W (or ‘orange peel’) hotel which has had some mixed reviews during its completion.
Over the last year, an extensive selection of brands and names have been confirmed, however not all of the site will open on the same day.
‘Phase One’ of the project will open on June 24, which will mostly contain the shops and a few eateries. The rest of the quarter will open at a later date, which is yet to be confirmed.
However, there will still be a multitude of new shops to visit, and places to pick up a well-earned snack.
