ITV THIS MORNING PAYS VIEWERS ENERGY BILLS FOR FOUR MONTHS IN SPIN TO WIN PRIZE

This Morning viewers have reacted after the show made a major change to the popular game Spin to Win. On Monday, September 5 presenter’s Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield returned to the ITV studio following a summer break and introduced a new version of the popular competition.

The segment gives those who enter the chance to spin the wheel and win cash prizes, including £1,000 and £3,000. However, ITV bosses have now added energy bills to the wheel, with Phil explaining the show would pay a lucky winner’s energy bill for the rest of the year if they landed on it.

Phil said: “This week we’ve got our usual cash prizes, but you could also win some extra cash to pay your energy bills until the end of the year. That’s four months of energy bills taken care of.” Holly then added: “Wow, that’s very important right now.

The first caller told the hosts he was “massively” worried about the rising cost of energy, telling Phil and Holly: “I’ve got one of these prepayment meters and it’s absolutely murder.”

As the wheel stopped on energy bills, the viewer said: “Oh my God! Thank you! Fantastic, what a relief, thank you very much!”

Later Spin to Win returned with another caller winning his energy bills. However, viewers at home couldn’t believe what they were watching and said the new addition was a “sad reflection” of the cost of living crisis.

One viewer wrote: “#ThisMorning having ‘energy bills’ as a prize on their Spin To Win is the most dystopian and sad reflection on society right now… How did we get to this point? Madness.”

While another added: “Competitions to win having your energy bills paid should not be normal. What a sad state this country is in #ThisMorning.”

A third said: “Comes to something when paying your energy bills for 4 months is a better prize than £3,000 #ThisMorning.”

And a fourth commented: “When you can win the prize of having your energy bills paid and they pretend like it’s a good thing, that’s when you know this country is f**ked.”

While a fifth said: “I can’t believe you can win your energy bills as a prize on spin to win… like that’s how bad it’s got! #ThisMorning.”

“It’s so sad that if you win Spin to Win, they’ll pay your energy bills,” echoed another. “It used to be win a holiday, the absolute state of things is horrifying.”
