A new Starbucks store opens at Pencoed Business Park today, creating 31 new jobs for the local community.
To celebrate the opening of the new drive-thru store, there was a ribbon-cutting at 10am, attended by local Mayor Cllr D. John, Pencoed town councillors, and DJ Lee Jukes from local radio station Bridge FM. Prior to the opening ceremony, Starbucks and Bridge FM hosted a giveaway from 8am-10am, offering free tall hot beverages to the first 20 customers.
The opening was also attended by representatives from Tŷ Hafan, the store’s local charity partner. One of the UK’s leading paediatric palliative care charities, Tŷ Hafan helps children and families throughout Wales by providing access to nurses, therapists and advisers who help educate families on how to access the financial support they need.
Across the day today, the Starbucks Pencoed team will host coffee tastings for customers to learn about the new Starbucks Blonde Espresso Roast. With a smooth body balanced with citrusy notes, Blonde Espresso is an entirely new take on what espresso-based drinks can taste like with no compromise on flavour.
