After his family fled the repressive Yugoslavian Regime in Croatia, young Robert Herjavec didn’t even know if he could put food on the table. Quebecois-Irish businessman Kevin O’Leary started software distributor SoftKey with just $10,000 in his basement in 1986. The company was acquired by Mattel for an astounded 4.2 billion in 1999. He is also the director of mutual fund company O’Leary Funds, Inc. Like Robert Herjavec, O’Leary has also appeared on Dragon’s Den.
Kevin Harrington – $450 Million
Everyone (and likely their grandparents too) is familiar with As Seen On TV, the brainchild of entrepreneur Kevin Harrington. He is also the co-founder of HSN (Home Shopping Network) direct, another TV-based product channel. Harrington was a main cast member on the show during its first two seasons.
Mark Cuban – $3.7 Billion
Investor and business magnate Mark Cuban is Shark amongst sharks. Cuban accumulated part of his multi-billion dollar net worth during the dot com boom of the late 90’s.
