Tributes and sympathies have been paid to Alannah Dunn, who tragically died while in Spain.
The 16-year-old, who was in the country on an exchange trip, was rushed to hospital after falling 16 feet.
The Dublin schoolgirl had been returning from a social gathering at Fuente del Avellano (Avellano fountain) at Andalucia on the outskirts of Granada on Friday night.
A notice on RIP.ie: ‘Beloved daughter of CaitrÃona and Martin and much loved sister of Juliette and Michael.
‘Very sadly missed by her loving family, her adoring grandparents Bernadette, Gerard and Martin, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and her wonderful friends.’
Over the weekend, Leinster Dancing paid tribute to Alannah and on their Facebook page wrote: ‘It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you of the sad and tragic passing of Alannah Dunn.
At only 16 years of age Alannah was unfortunately taken from this life at such a young age after a tragic accident. May she rest in peace.
‘Alannah, a previous Leinster World Qualifier was the loving grand daughter of our former council member and colleague Bernadette Chaney Farrell ADCRG, niece of Deirdre Farrell ADCRG and daughter of her heart-broken parents Caitriona Dunn TCRG and Michael Dunn.

Others shared their sympathies, remarking on Alannah’s talent.
One wrote: ‘Having danced with Alannah, I am truly heartbroken. Alannah was such a kind and talented girl and was successful in everything she did. Thinking of her family at this extremely difficult time.’
Another said: ‘The saddest news. Heartbroken for Alannah’s family. Thoughts and prayers are with the family at this tragic time. Candle lighting here for you all.’
