Wendy’s and REEF launch first Delivery Restaurants in London

Date:

The Wendy’s Company, one of the world’s largest restaurant companies, and REEF, the world’s largest operator of mobility, logistics hubs and delivery restaurants, has announced the opening of the first Wendy’s delivery kitchen in the United Kingdom. This opening follows last month’s  announcement about the new development commitment between Wendy’s® and REEF to open and operate approximately 700 delivery kitchens over the next five years across the U.S., Canada and the UK. This new concept launches in the UK after it was successfully tested in Canada.

The first two Wendy’s delivery restaurants will allow even more Londoners to access Wendy’s beginning September 30th from locations at Regis Road in Kentish Town (NW5) – and at Blackwall in the Docklands area of East London (E14), one of the oldest areas of the city and in easy reach of Canary Wharf, as office workers and residents flock back to the area.

In response to growing demand from the home delivery market, Wendy’s classics such as the Baconator, Dave’s Single™, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, signature Frosty® dessert and new items unique to the UK, such as the Veggie Stack, will be delivered via major delivery platforms, which include Uber Eats, Just Eat and Deliveroo.

“We’re very pleased to confirm the opening of our first two delivery locations in London, delivering on Wendy’s long-term commitment to growing the brand in the United Kingdom,” said Abigail Pringle, Wendy’s president, international and chief development officer. “Our collaboration with REEF aligns perfectly with our growth ambitions for the UK and the ever-growing consumer demand for convenient, high quality food experiences. We look forward to providing more access to the Wendy’s brand and serving more customers across London and beyond.”

“This is an important moment for REEF in the UK as we proudly partner with Wendy’s to demonstrate how a restaurant brand can successfully and conveniently scale with REEF’s delivery restaurant platform to reach more customers more quickly.” said Michael Beacham, President of Kitchens at REEF. “REEF’s first kitchen was launched in the UK in 2016 and we are delighted to support Wendy’s acclaimed return to this country.”

REEF’s network of delivery restaurants, in over 30 cities around the world, helps reduce traffic congestion and pollution by bringing food closer to the customer. REEF Kitchens are conveniently placed and mean shorter deliveries in your neighbourhood.
