LA Galaxy are reportedly interested in signing former Liverpool and Barcelona striker Luis Suarez.
The striker bid an emotional farewell to LaLiga last season, leaving Atletico Madrid at the end of his contract.
The 35-year-old rejoined boyhood club Nacional but it has been reported that contract expires in November, just ahead of the World Cup.
Spanish publication AS claim LA Galaxy have been in contact with the prolific striker over a possible move to the west coast of America.
It has been suggested they could get rid of former Juventus winger Douglas Costa to make way for Suarez.
They are said to be willing to offer him an annual salary of £6.1million, making him their highest paid player ahead of former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.
When asked about his future in a recent interview, he said: “I don’t know yet. It’s one of the options that I see as being most likely, but I’m not thinking about that right now.
“I’m thinking about and enjoying myself at Nacional.”
Suarez would not be the first former Liverpool player to head to LA Galaxy with old teammate Steven Gerrard having a brief stint with the MLS side.
The pair came close to winning the Premier League title together at the Anfield club, with the striker, who scored 82 goals in 133 games, adored by fans.
A move to Barcelona followed where he formed a devastating partnership with Lionel Messi and Neymar and captured 13 trophies in just six seasons.
Suarez joined Atletico Madrid in 2020, scoring 21 LaLiga goals on their way to the title in the 2020/21 season.
